My favourite new movie so far this year has been Isao Takahata’s Pom Poko (1994). As a seasoned Ghibli fan, I thoroughly enjoyed this film, with all its emotional value. I’ve always been a huge fan of Studio Ghibli movies – you’re always guaranteed a wholesome plot and moving soundtrack, what’s not to love! Ponyo (2008) is quite mainstream in terms of Ghibli films, and yet, there are many who haven’t yet experienced its adorableness. I’m hoping that I can change that as much as I can!
